FAQ

Is it really invisible to screen sharing?

Yes. It uses the Windows SetWindowDisplayAffinity API to exclude the overlay from all screen capture. This is the same API that Netflix uses to prevent screenshotting. Works with Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and any other screen sharing tool.

What about my API key?

ScreenReader uses the BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. Your Anthropic API key stays on your local machine. We never see it, store it, or have access to it.

How much does the AI cost per session?

A typical interview session (30-60 minutes) costs approximately $1-3 in Anthropic API usage, depending on how many questions are asked and how much screen content is captured.

What AI models does it support?

It uses Claude by Anthropic. The default model is Claude Sonnet, which offers the best balance of speed and quality. You can configure any Claude model in the settings.

Does it work on Mac?

Currently Windows only. The overlay invisibility relies on Windows-specific APIs. Mac support may come in a future update.

Can I use it for any type of interview?

Yes. The system prompt is fully customizable. Configure it for backend, frontend, DevOps, data engineering, system design, or any technical domain.
